Knit-Alongs

Once or twice a month we host a knit-along at the shop! Knit-alongs are a great time to socialize and enjoy other knitters’ company.  Be sure to check the YFY website and watch our emails for the most current Knit-Along and more details.   These are free events so come and join the fun.

Knitters Anonymous

Wednesday, 5 – 8 pm, Aug 4 & 11, Sept 1 & 8

Join us every 1st and 2nd Wednesday of the month. This is your night to drop everything and come relax and knit with us.  There is no fee and the shop is open for customers during Knitters Anonymous evenings.

Tuesdays, 1– 4 pm

Join others for a few hours of knitting, sharing, laughing and enjoying our addiction together … every Tuesday afternoon!  No fee!

Asland Marcia Scarf

Sept 9 and Sept 23, Thursdays, 6 – 8 pm

This charming lush neck scarf is beautifully embellished with a soft, chic rosette flower. This accessory is sure to enhance anyone’s wardrobe. Great for beginners. Come see the sample on display at the shop.

Basic Blocking

September 11, Saturday, 2 – 4 pm

You’ve heard of blocking, but have you tried it yet?  This class will cover the basics of blocking so you can learn why, how and when to block.  No more mystery about blocking – you’ll learn how to give that finished look to your work.  The class will feature a hands-on demonstration to enhance your understanding. This class is open to all skill levels.

Class Fee:  $25/2 hours

Spiral Baby Hat

Sept 11 and Sept 18, Saturdays, 9 – 11 am

Pick two colors and learn how to make this unique, unisex baby hat! Striped in swirls the combination of colors is unlimited.  Learn color work by using the Fair Isle technique, along with making an I-cord and knitting on double pointed needles.  You have to see this one!  A sample is on display at the shop.

Nellie Cardigan

Sept 14, Sept 21, and Sept 28,
Tuesdays, 6 – 7:30 pm

Here is a simple top down raglan cardigan…just for little girls! Eyelet rows and dainty seed stitches create an interesting yet simple yoke. Designed to fit girls 12-36 months, Nellie is knitted is one piece with no seams. If you are new to top down sweaters, this is a perfect project to start with.  A sample is available at the shop.

Class Fee:  $35/3 – 1.5 hr sessions

Drifting Pearls

Sept 18, Sept 25 and Oct 2, Saturdays, 2 – 4 pm

A beautiful, uniquely styled scarf that details simple twisted cable stitches and bobbles.  This scarf uses so many different techniques, such as left and right cables, bobbles, a very distinctive cast on, pleating, an applied I-cord…and much more. You will be sure to enhance your knit skills.  Come to the shop to see this beautiful scarf!

Divas Book Club

Aug 25 & Sept 22 Wednesdays, 6 – 8 pm.

Knit Fix

Sept 25, Saturday, 10 am – noon

Do you know how to rip?  Frog?  Fix mistakes?  Tink?  Fix dropped stitches?  Take this class and you will be able to identify mistakes and fix them without aggravation and frustration.  Learn the anatomy of stitches how to fix them and much more!!  Homework is required prior to class.  

Class Fee:  $25/2 hrs
