Mirasol Khusku is a next-to-skin soft blend of wool, bamboo fiber and nylon. Khusku means "colorful" in Quechuan—an apt name for these hand-painted, variegated, self-striping and pooling colorways. This fingering weight yarn is a lovely choice for lightweight garments and more delicate accessories.
The Mirasol Project, established in 2006, was named after a little girl who helped tend a herd of alpaca near Lake Titicaca. The sale of Mirasol yarns and wool combats the extreme poverty for children in the areas of Peru where the wool is sourced (Munani, Neque Neque and Mallkini in Puno) by funding the Mirasol School.
